Maggie Grace is an American actress born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most famous roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character in ABC's Lost series, and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. After the divorce of her parents, she left Worthington in Ohio and moved with her family in Los Angeles. Even though she had financial difficulties, her 2001 debut was as Rachel's Room's principal character. In 2002 she was nominated to receive a Young Artist Award with her character as a 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford was the character Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons of 2004 and she shared with her a Screen Actors Guild Award (with the rest of the cast) alongside her. She starred as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken 2008) on Suburban Girl and The Jane Austen Book Club. The same character was played by Grace on Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both in 2012). Grace reprised Shannon's role as Shannon in Lost for two additional episodes, which included the final episode of the series. She appeared in 2013's six-season of Californication. Being part of the Gyllenhaal family, she's the daughter and older sister of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for both her performances as a lead character actress in Secretary (2002) which is an erotic romance drama drama as well as Sherrybaby (2006). In 2006, she was also nominated for The Golden Globe Award. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008, following several highly successful films including World Trade Center (2006) which brought her greater recognition, was a huge success for Gyllenhaal.
